Dr Hilary Cass told the Times she wished to address the “disinformation” circulating about the findings and recommendations handed down by the Cass review when it was published on 10 April. She said she had received online abuse in the wake of the report and had been advised to stop using public transport. The report said the evidence base for gender medicine in young people had been thin and children had been let down by a “toxic” public discourse around gender. The report recommended that young people struggling with their gender identity should be screened to detect neurodevelopmental conditions and there should be an assessment of their mental health, because some who seek help with their gender identity may also have anxiety or depression, for example. When the report was released, Cass stressed that her findings were not intended to undermine the validity of trans identities or challenge people’s right to transition, but rather to improve the care of the fast-growing number of children and young people with gender-related distress.

nowhere in my three word statement did I say criminalizing sex work was the solution. I 100% believe that many people end up with sex work being the only option because of abuse and broader structures in our society. Our world just doesn’t take care of people and citizens as it should. I never demonized sex- sex is fine and beautiful. I also never said women, I said “people”. (Though I realize the quote was about women.) The product of sex comes from people, (I am speaking specifically about prostitution. Not onlyfans etc) from our bodies, and I do find ethical issues with being able to buy someone’s body for a duration of time for sexual pleasure, especially when the person selling is there only because they have no other options. I never posed a solution for this issue, i just made a statement. there isn’t a world where criminalizing the sex industry would do any good for anyone, as people would just find even less safe ways to keep doing it.

I am, however, deeply concerned with a society that is willing to buy sex off of someone before offering an alternative, or trying to help that person make money in a safer way. I know not all sex workers would take those options, but I’m bothered by the fact that we have people who are completely okay with a system that leaves people so short handed that they have to turn to sex work, because it means that money can be made off of it. the amount of abuse that takes place within the sex industry is what makes me so angry that it exists in the first place. It’s all very dehumanizing. its exploitative, chosen or not. yeah, technically women have the right to sell sex. But how have we reached such a point where that’s seen and defended as being ethical? ESPECIALLY, when that woman is there because she had no other options?

I’m more angry at the people who see these people in the sex industry and see them as something to buy, to take advantage of. It’s not so much the workers who I take issue with, so much as the people who look at all of the broader implications of the issue, shrug their shoulders and ask for the price.

I’m sure I’m missing more nuance. I’m not trying to be a bitch; I’m literally a teenage girl, who’s learning.

Trans male here, though I know my identity would not be taken seriously here, I find myself wanting to rather get she/her’d by radfems then deal with the horrific misogyny I receive in online trans spaces. Trans men are constantly referred to as “cunts” and “bitches” and we’re not allowed disagree with trans women on certain topics. Are there any accounts you know of that document and discuss the way trans men are treated in the trans community that don’t sugarcoat it?

Another thing that I sometimes think when reading accounts like yours: I always find it strange how you are not allowed to mention the biological sex of the person you are interacting with in queer spaces, but it is totally okay to treat that person as a stereotypical member of their biological sex. Like, isn't talking over a trans man or intimidating him or sexually harassing him a much more severe form of "misgendering" than using the word "she"? I mean, I am not a trans man so I don't know, but I'd imagine that I'd feel much more dysphoric after being sexually harassed by a male for being female than if someone called me "she/her"? So that's what has always confused me a bit about trans-affirming spaces.

Alright, radfems. If you're on discord, look out for this guy Aru (aruws/Aru#3166) and KraziKai (don't know if he left discord or changed his username). On July 2022, I (then 15 years old) was playing with userphone until these guys showed up on nowhere and started being creeps. Look at the messages:

Aru sent me a friend request and I thought it would be a normal conversation, but oh boy! I was so wrong! Him and that Krazi guy opened a group chat, invited me without my permission and first started asking about r@ping me. I was like WTF and they immediately said that it was 'autocorrect'. Imagine asking about r@ping me and saying it's autocorrect. They also threatened to kill me and naive me didn't know how to report. Mind you that I was 15, yet it was still my fault for not taking any action. They said that they would do horrible things to me and my mother.

Even if I did try to fight back, they'd still threatened me. I wondered why I hadn't left the group and blocked them.

At the end, when I told Krazi that I'm from India, this Aru guy left after sending a lot of 🤮 emoji and blocked me. Not only a racist, but he's hell of a moid. Krazi left because I refused to show my face. Now I can't help but laugh at these two for being hypocrites.

I don't have the screenshots of the DMs because I deleted them a long time ago, but yeah you can figure out their misogyny from these screenshots I've sent. Also, discord is shitty for not taking any action on them after I had sent them a reply.
